WorldNomads.com is looking for talented travel filmmakers that are willing to work in Rio de Janeiro and cover Brazil’s most vibrant cultural festival – Carnival! Solo or team applications can be submitted.
This assignment is about really getting under the skin of Rio and experiencing it with the locals.
You’ll spend 10 days in Rio under the mentorship of Filmmaker and Producer Trent O’Donnell and you will be producing 3-5 three-minute travel-themed videos.
Go on a WorldNomads.com Assignment to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and Experience Carnival!
Any non-professionals can apply – this is open to film students, or anyone who’s trying to build a career in film making and/or presenting! Residents of any country can apply.
This scholarship is very much about the mentorship opportunity, and the judging panel will be selecting the person or team who they feel will most benefit from the learning opportunity. So if you have already been commissioned to make films or have had your work broadcast on numerous occasions, it is unlikely you will be selected.
In your application video, you should really show a sense of who you are and your personality. You should be:
- comfortable in front of the camera
- engaging and charismatic, the kind of travel companion everyone would like to have (think Natalie Tran, Ian Wright or even Bradley Cooper…we don’t ask much!)
- curious and inquisitive, interested in the lives of others, and always willing to interact with and learn from the locals
- up for anything, at any time
