TCBF 2013 International Comics Competition for Newcomers

The Association Fumetti in Treviso in collaboration with the Scuola Internazionale di Comics and in occasion of the Treviso Comic Book Festival 2013 announces the Second International Competition for New Authors “TCBF”.

The theme of the 2013 competition, year of the tenth anniversary of the festival, is “The number 10”: entries must be stories involving the number 10 as an element of storytelling or comics construction .

The Association Fumetti in Treviso Hosts its Second International Comics Competition for New Authors

The competition is open to all newcomers cartoonists and comics artists over 18 years (born before 31 December 1995) from anywhere in the world. A newcomer is a non-professional author who has no employment contracts in the field of design and has never published with national publishers. The competition is open to students from schools of comics and writers who collaborate with fanzines.

To enter the contest, the candidate (or candidates) should make a comics story from a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 4 boards on the theme of the event. Boards must be maximum size of A3 (29.7 × 42 cm). The boards can be produced using any manual technique, using black and white or color. It is however forbidden any digital drawing technique or digital coloring, except for the lettering.

The non-Italian participants will send their works with lettering in English or French.

The prizes are offered by Scuola Internazionale di Comics:

  • 500 Euro to the winner
  • 300 Euro for the second place
  • 200 Euro to the third place.
