Post-Quake Visions – Young Architects Competitions

Young Architects Competitions (YAC) is inviting architecture enthusiasts, professionals and students to enter the “Post-Quake Visions” design competition. This is YAC’s second competition, initiated with the aims to offer participants a chance of practicing solid, refined research in of post-seismic design.

The competition will result in giving out three (3) main prizes and twelve (12) honorable mentions. The first prize includes 3000 Euro, publication on architectural magazines and websites and an exhibition.

With “Post-Quake Visions”, YAC aims to rethink and redesign the quake-inflicted gaps left inside ancient urban tissues. This endeavor pints to revamp such scarred ecosystem undercultural and economical keys, with the goal of finding out urban perspectives and social possibilities once undisclosed or inconceivable. YAC also aims to base this research firstly on reading the wounds the quake left on cities, communities and architectures. By focusing on such vacant spaces, the goal is to insert brand new architecture able to blend ancient heritage with contemporary pace.

Entry Fees

  • Early bird entry – 60 Euro/team
    (from 1st July 2013 to 1st September 2013)
  • Standard entry – 90 Euro/team
    (from 2nd September 2013 to 6th October 2013)
  • Late entry – 120 Euro/team
    (from 7th October 2013 to 3rd November 2013)
