PDN The Look – Where Fashion Meets Art

“The Look” contest is calling for entries in fashion photography. Various categories are available and great prizes await in this international photography contest.

Winners will be announced in seven different categories. One grand prize winner will receive a prize package worth $5,000.

Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness in expressing the contest and category theme.

Objective

Submit photos in any of the following categories:

  • Advertising
  • Editorial/Celebrity
  • Still Life/Accessories
  • Personal Work/Fine Art/Avante Garde
  • Runway/Street Scene
  • Beauty
  • Debut [Student/Emerging]

Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, photographic quality and effectiveness in expressing the contest and category theme.

Prizes

One grand prize winner will receive a Milk Studios prize package worth $5,000. The package includes: one rental of Milk’s Formula studio, equipment & lighting rental, and Milk digital capture services.
A winner will be selected in each category and will receive:

  • A PDN PhotoServe portfolio ($860 value),
  • A digital camera,
  • A full page in the September 2010 issue of PDN as well as placement in The Look contest online gallery.

Rules

  • Anyone except employees of Nielsen and their families may enter.
  • Except where prohibited by law, international entries can be submitted.
  • A contest entry may consist of one image, or a photo series. You may enter multiple times.
  • Overall a series consists of up to six visually-related images.
  • Submitted materials will not be returned.

How to enter?

To enter your submissions electronically, please visit the official website and register. Once the registration process has been completed, you will receive an e-mail confirmation.

Simply log in to the contest’s website, and follow the online instructions to upload images from your computer. Images formatted as a JPEG measuring at least 1,000 pixels on its long dimension are preferred. Images may be color profiled in sRGB, Adobe-1998 or not color-managed.

Entry fee

  • $35 per image or series
  • $20 per image or series for students

All entries received after 12:00 a.m. PST on 21 June 2010 will be charged an additional $10 per entry for the extended deadline: 30 June 2010.
