Moved to Care Humanitarian Design Competition

Building Trust’s new design competition – Moved to Care – seeks to find design proposals for a small, either mobile or relocatable healthcare facility that promotes health and well-being in a safe and clean environment.

Contestants should create an innovative design which helps to bring healthcare and well-being education to rural and otherwise disconnected communities.

Building Trust will work alongside partners to seek funding and planning for the winning design.

The competition challenges professional and student architects, designers and engineers to provide a design solution which advocates creativity and promotes design excellence on a humanitarian scale improving the lives of people from some of the poorest nations in Southeast Asia.

This design could be in response to a natural disaster, or to inoculate and educate in areas with specific medical emergencies or outbreaks, it will also help aid agencies that don’t have the funds or means to purchase land, offering short term leasing opportunities.

Demand for healthcare services in Southeast Asia is rising rapidly especially for those in rural communities where poverty makes people more vulnerable. Prevention, early detection and timely treatment through decentralised healthcare will lower death rates and improve lives.

Moved to Care is Building Trust’s 5th International humanitarian design competition.
