Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards (KLPA) 2014

Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards (KLPA) 2014, the annual portrait photography competition is now in its sixth year with a quest for the perfect portrait.

Initiated in 2009, KLPA is regarded as the major platform in the region of Malaysia for portrait photographers of all levels competing and showcasing their works amongst an international audience.

KLPA 2014 is open to all photographers from around the world.

In 2014, the judges will be guided by the overall guiding philosophy of Look at Me, and are required to seek the best images that will attempt to answer these questions and more, with an emphasis of the existentialist ‘self’, the ‘me’ in the portrait – the experiencer, an object of consciousness portrayed.

With two (2) open and one (1) themed categories, the judges will also be selecting entries which show fresh takes, creativity, humour and that unquantifiable ‘X’ factor.

The 2014 Kuala Lumpur International Photoawards offer three (3) main prizes in each of the competition categories with the first prize consisting of USD $3,500, a trophy and a Pacsafe Camsafe product.

To encourage and nurture a future generation of local photographers, special prizes will be awarded in each to Malaysian photographers.

KLPA is founded by explorenation.net, and organised by a team of dedicated photographers and art managers, based in the UK and Malaysia.
