The 2015 Kokuyo Design Awards international competition, themed “Beautiful Lifestyle”, is now open for submissions from product designers around the world.
Designs for stationery products and furniture, never before shown publicly, are eligible for submission and will be evaluated against six criteria.
The Grand Prix for 2015 is 2,000,000 Japanese yen (more than $16,000) and will be awarded together with three (3) Merit awards of ¥500,000. Prize-winning designs may be adapted into commercial products.
Corporations, organizations, individuals, and group are all welcome to participate in the Competition, regardless of age, sex, professional background, or nationality.
Final judging will take place on 30 November 2015 – the day of the awards ceremony and the designers of the selected products will present their designs, using a Brush-Up Presentation Sheet and a Design Model.
Last year, the Kokuyo Design Awards received a total of 1,442 entries from product designers in more than 29 countries.
