The Call for Entries of the Joseph Binder Award 2014 has been announced and the competition is now open for entries. This is the twelfth time designaustria organizes the Joseph Binder Award, an international competition with a focus on graphic design & illustration.
Designers, illustrators, and students from all over the world are invited to submit their works realized between 2012 and now.
The entries will be assessed by an international jury in thirteen (13) categories:
- Corporate Design,
- Communication Design,
- Information Design,
- Editorial Design,
- Type Design,
- Poster Design,
- Packaging Design,
- Book Illustration,
- Media Illustration,
- Commercial Illustration,
- Illustration in Miscellaneous Applications, and
- Design Fiction.
A Joseph Binder Award in gold, silver, and bronze will be awarded in the form of trophies for each of the 13 categories.
In order to support independent, conceptual, and scientific activities in the fields of graphic design and illustration, money prizes will be awarded in the Design Fiction category in addition to the trophies. Additionally, the jury may choose up to seven Merit Awards per category.
The winners will be publicly disclosed in autumn 2014 within the framework of a festive presentation of the selected and prize-winning entries. On the occasion of the award ceremony, a catalog will appear containing all of the selected and prize-winning entries and introducing the members of the jury.
Joseph Binder Award 2014 Entry Fees
Early Bird entries – submitted before 31 March 2014 – cost 80 Euro. Entries submitted after 31 March 2014 and no later than 31 May 2014 cost 90 Euro.
There is a 50% discount for Students and 30% discount for Members of DA, AGD, BDG, Design Luxembourg, IO, and SGD.
Discounts are also available if submitting more than one entry.
