Тhe 2015 Golden Pin Design Award competition, seeking to celebrate the world’s most innovative designs for the huaren market, is now open for entries.
This year, as the design world turns its sights on Taipei, the city which will host the World Design Capital in 2016, Taiwan’s Golden Pin Design Award hopes to attract more entries from international companies keen to prove their prowess in the huaren (Chinese-speaking) market.
Projects or products can be submitted in four award categories: Product Design, Visual Communication Design, Packaging Design, and Interior Design.
Chinese-speaking (huaren) consumers demand products and designs tailored to their needs and desires. Given the variety of economic classes, lifestyle choices, and business opportunities in huaren communities, astute design is crucial if brands want to remain competitive. International and domestic companies selling products and undertaking design projects in this complex arena must couple an understanding of centuries of civilization within a keen sense of local trends.
The annual Golden Pin Design Award is the longest running design award that celebrates products expressly created for the huaren market. Participating individuals and companies are judged on their ability to innovate in this dynamic economy. As the gauge for leading design in huaren communities, the Golden Pin offers entrants an unprecedented opportunity to prove their prowess in the world’s largest market.
Individuals or companies that are selling, manufacturing, or designing products or projects in or for a huaren country or region are eligible to enter the Golden Pin Design Award. Entered products and projects are assessed in three stages by an expert jury. Winners receive a Golden Pin Design Mark or Best Design trophy, and can benefit from media exposure.
