FMoPA International Photography Competition 2020

The Florida Museum оf Photographic Arts (FMoPA) has put out a call to photographers to participate in its 10th annual International Photography Competition.

Photographers from all over the world are invited to submit their work. All styles and levels of experience are welcome.

Best in Competition submission will receive $1,000, be considered for public art exhibition on a billboard, be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA, and taken into consideration for a solo exhibition at FMoPA.

The winning selections will be printed and framed by FMoPA and exhibited in the Community Gallery from 5th June – 20th July, 2020.

This year’s categories include:

  • People/Portraits,
  • Places/Landscape/Drone,
  • Nature/Science/Animals,
  • Documentation/Social and Political Photojournalism,
  • Still Life,
  • Abstract Photography and
  • Conceptual Photography.

For winning submissions in each category, First Place winners will receive goods and services valuing $100, be considered for public art exhibition on a billboard, and be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA. Second Place winners will be considered for public art exhibition on a billboard and be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA. Third Place winners will be considered for public art exhibition on a billboard and be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA. The People’s Choice winner will be part of a group exhibition at FMoPA.

Winners will be selected by a panel of judges.

Images will be judged on originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact, artistic merit, and as otherwise determined by the judges.

The Florida Museum of Photographic Arts is one of fewer than ten museums in the United States dedicated exclusively to photography and one of two such museums in the state of Florida. It is dedicated to exhibiting important photographic art as central to contemporary life and culture.

Non-refundable entry fees are $25 for 1-3 images.
