Docville 2011 – International Documentaries Festival

The seventh edition of Docville will be held between 30 April and 7 May 2011. The festival presents a wide selection of recent releases and previews, a number of thematic series, the best new documentaries and Belgian arrested again with an international selection of unreleased films.

Docville organizes both a national and an international competition. Documentaries finished before 1 January 2010 can be submitted.

The best documentaries will become a part of the 2011 festival programme and will be awarded.

Objective

Docville keeps a finger on the pulse of the world of the international documentary film. More than 800 entries from all over the world were watched and discussed on Docville 2010.

As usual, Docville organizes both a national and an international competition for documentary films.

Prizes

Two prizes will be awarded: the Canvas Jury Award goes to the best film from the International Selection, whereas the SCAM Jury Award will be granted to the best Belgian Documentary selected for the National Selection.

Rules

  • Submitted films must be finished before 1 January 2010.
  • For all the competitive sections, Docville asks international documentaries to be (at least) Belgian premieres.
  • The festival will not return DVDs; they will be stored in the festival video archive.

How to enter?

Submit your entry form online through the Docville official website. Then submit your documentary film.

Films must be submitted on DVD. DVDs must be sent with the following statement: “Without commercial value, for cultural purposes only.” Submitted films must delivered to Docville before 4 March 2011.
