Dieline Awards 2010

Established in 2007, TheDieline.com is dedicated to the progress of the package design industry and its practitioners, students and enthusiasts. Its purpose is to define and promote the world’s best examples of packaging, and to provide a place where the package design community can review, critique, be inspired and stay informed of the latest industry trends, news and projects being created in the field.

The Dieline has quickly grown into the most visited website on package design in the world, and it has become the voice of the industry. It is used as a daily resource for hundreds of thousands of people around the world. Our first book, Box Bottle Bag: The World’s Best Packaging Design, will be published in February by HOW Books.

As The Dieline continues to find and define the world’s best packaging, it has launched The Dieline Awards, an international design competition recognizing best in package design, further promoting the progress of package design industry.

Objective

Submit your package designs in some of these categories:

  • Food A: Fresh food, Fish, Meat, Poultry, Fruit & Vegetables, Soup
  • Food B: Bread, Pasta, Spices, Oils, Baking, Sauces & Condiments, Diet/Health
  • Food C: Confections, Desserts, Pastry, Chocolate, Dairy Products, Cereal, Snacks
  • Non-Alcoholic Beverage: Water, Soft Drinks, Tea, Coffee, Functional Beverages
  • Wine & Spirits: Beer, Wine, Spirits, Cider, Prepared Cocktails
  • Bath, Beauty, & Health: Soaps, Bath & Shower, Dental, Deodorant, Perfumes, Cosmetics, Vitamins,
  • Home Care & Pets: Detergents, Cleaning Products, Pet Food & Toys, Utensils, Garden, Toilet Paper & Tissues
  • Books, Office & Art Supplies, Toys: Books, Office Supplies, Art Supplies, Paper, Stationary
  • Electronics, Technology, Movies, CDs: Computers, Printers, Accessories, Software, Movies, CDs
  • All other categories: All other types of products not included above

Prizes

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be chosen from each of the 10 categories. One “Best of Show” winner will be awarded by the highest accumulative score. All winners will be promoted on a special dedicated awards section on The Dieline, the world’s most visited package design website. The official award ceremony will take place at the FUSE 2010 Conference in Chicago.

1st place winners and “Best of Show” winner will receive:

  • Free entry to FUSE 2010 in Chicago, a $3,300+ Value (not including travel or hotel expenses)
  • Custom Designed Award Trophy by ESTABLISHED
  • The Strata 3D CX Suite, a $1,395 Value
  • Signed copy of Box, Bottle, Bag: The World’s Best Packaging Design by The Dieline
  • Winning packages will be displayed at the winners gallery at FUSE 2010
  • All Winners will be featured in detail on The Dieline

All 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive:

Rules

  • The Dieline Awards are open to all, from large design firms, to packaging producers & manufacturers, to emerging students.
  • All entries must have been created, produced, or launched between 1 July 2007 and 21 Dec 2009.
  • The Dieline Awards is a worldwide competion, entries are accepted from any country. All communications between The Dieline Awards and the entrant will be in English.
  • Entries are accepted online only. A completed entry form, images in the correct format and size, and online payment are required for an entry to be accepted. One entry per entry form/upload/payment. All payments are processed through Google Checkout in US Dollars ($). Submission fees are non-refundable for any reason.
  • By entering The Dieline Awards, entrants assign publication rights for all work submitted. This includes, but may not be limited to internet, printed, television, or digital publication. The entrants agree to take all responsibility for any claims made against The Dieline Awards, Dieline Media LLC, IIR Holdings LLC, and/or its affiliated companies, in the event of a dispute or litigation with possible claimant/s or others. All entries are to be kept confidential until 14 April 2010.
  • We will not accept works which are considered to be plagiarisms. By entering The Dieline Awards, entrants assert that they are the legal copyright owners for all work submitted. All works submitted must be photographs or digital renders of packages. The Dieline Awards reserve the right to reject any entry at it sole determination.
  • The Dieline Awards requires the winning entries to mail two physical samples of the winning packaging to our office. Entrants are required to pay all transport / shipping costs.

Entry fee

Entry fees are $95 for the 1st entry, $55 for each additional entry. There is also a discounted rate for student projects, $55 for each entry.
