Carapelli for Art 2020 – Visual Arts Prize

Carapelli is pleased to announce the third edition of Carapelli For Art, prize for visual arts and to invite applications for 2020.

In this particular and delicate historical moment, the award also intends to give concrete support to the sector of art and culture, hard hit by the global emergency.

The total prize fund for 2019 is 12,000 Euro — distributed between two categories of prizes.

The theme of the second edition is: Roots.

The roots keep us firm on the ground, to make us grow in height; they are our identity, history, tradition – individually and collectively. They make any form of exchange possible because their strength is inclusive. This is in their principle: they give us nourishment and stability, to allow development and transformation. In art, the roots are essential: they can be the relationship with one’s origin, the recurring character of a research, the solid link with a material or an idea, the first and necessary element of a process.

The competition is open to all professional visual artists who operate in the various artistic fields and to students of the Fine Arts Academies.

Entries can be either new pieces or previous artworks, as long as these have not been entered in other competitions. Any technique and materials can be used.

Carapelli Firenze promotes the Carapelli for Art award, a visual arts competition born with the intention of enhancing, promoting and supporting contemporary artists on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the Tuscan company.
