Blue Award, the international student competition for sustainable architecture, is currently open for submissions for the 2016 edition.
University students of Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree programs, as well as for students working on a diploma thesis or dissertation, in the academic fields of architecture, urbanism or regional planning are invited to participate.
A total of 10,000 Euro will be divided by a jury among three competition categories. A number of honorable mentions may also be selected.
Submitted projects must be part of a supervised coursework, having taken place during one of the following semesters: Summer Semester 2014, Winter Semester 2014/15, Summer Semester 2015 and Winter Semester 2015/16 and Summer Semester 2016.
The three (3) competition categories are as follows:
- Urban Development and Transformation, Landscape Development
- Ecological Building and Building in Existing Structures
- Innovative Systems and Detailed Solutions
The Awards Ceremony will take place from the 22th – 25th August, 2016 at the World Conference on Timber Engineering.
The competition is organized by the Department for Spatial and Sustainable Design, Vienna University of Technology and the Society of Architecture and Spatial Design.
