6th Visible White Photo Prize 2017 – In Conflict

The 6th edition of the Visible White Photo Prize, themed “In Conflict”, is now open for entries for 2017.

Visible White Photo Prize is an international open call for photographic works and projects, entry is open to all.

The total prize fund for 2017 includes 5,000 Euro, of which 2,500 Euro are reserved for the Best Project. The Runner-up Project will be awarded 1,500 Euro and the Best Single Photo, 1,000 Euro.

This time Visible White is dedicated to conflicts, whether economic, political or religious, conflicts for power, land, water, oil… conflicts which are evermore widespread and frequent, and are setting entire populations adrift with consequences and repercussions that are now evident in the ‘rich and stable’ countries of the world.

The organizers invite photographers and artists to use the photographic medium and explore with the use of original and personal forms of visual language, distant worlds, intimate universes, or to venture further afield into new forms of documentary photography or poetic realism. Or to look for alternatives or complementary ways to those distributed by television or internet’s information processing that have changed the traditional codes of photojournalism.

By 31st March 2017, 5 single photos and 10 finalist projects will be selected by the jury and announced online.

Winners will be announced during the opening of the final exhibition, scheduled for May–June 2017 at the FSM Gallery in Florence, Italy.

Visible White is a photography prize founded in 2012 by Celeste Network and Fondazione Studio Marangoni to support international photographers and artists who engage, creatively, with what is moving personal, social and political issues today.
