5th Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism

The 5th Lumix Festival for Young Photojournalism is currently accepting applications for 2016 and invites young photojournalists from around the world to submit their best works.

All students and professional photojournalists under the age of 35 are welcome to submit their photo stories.

Sixty (60) photojournalists will be invited to exhibit their work during the festival. The exhibitions accompany an attractive program which includes portfolio-reviews, lectures, panel-discussions, guided tours and a technique showroom. The Freelens Award (10,000 Euro), the Lumix Multimedia Award (5,000 Euro), the Lammerhuber Award (5,000 Euro) and the Hannoversche Allgemeine Zeitung (HAZ) Audience Award (1,000 Euro) will be awarded to selected exhibited works. Honorable Mentions will also be announced and awarded as well.

The Lumix festival aims to be a platform for discussions, a picture show and a talent forum that appeals to professional picture editors and an interested expert audience as well as those who simply love photography. It is organized by the photojournalism and documentary photography study course at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hanover, in cooperation with the Association for the Promotion of Photography in Hanover and with the support of the German photojournalist association Freelens.

The 2016 Lumix Festival is scheduled for Wednesday, 15th June through Sunday, 19th June, 2016 at the Design Center in Hanover, Germany.
