2020 Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition

Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC) and ET Foundation are hosting the 2020 Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition and invite participation by students worldwide.

The Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition is intended to enlighten students and engineering, design, and architecture professionals about aluminum extrusions’ superior advantages and many applications.

Awards for the 2020 competition are valued at $27,000, of which $15,500 are reserved for student scholarships. The rest $11,500 are reserved for the awards in the Professional Class.

Designers and engineers are challenged to think about aluminum extrusions as a holistic solution to a design problem by creating a product or system that includes at least one extruded aluminum component. Think beyond the ordinary to come up with unique and resourceful uses for aluminum extrusion.

The submitted design must be original and make use of at least one extruded aluminum component.

Winners of the 2020 Aluminum Extrusion Design Competition – both Student and Professional Classes – will be announced at the International Aluminum Extrusion Technology Seminar & Exposition – ET ’20, scheduled for 19 – 21 May, 2020 at the Hyatt Regency Orlando in Orlando, FL. This international technical event, produced by the ET Foundation and the Aluminum Extruders Council (AEC), will offer more than 120 technical sessions, additional add-on workshops and ET Expo. Winning Design Competition entries are displayed in the Extrusion Showcase, highlighting extrusion applications.
