The People & Planet International Photo Competition is back! Entry is free and there is $2,500 in cash prizes as well as professional publication up for grabs, including $1,500 for first prize.

Open to amateur and professional photographers anywhere in the world, the competition selects 53 photos to be published in the 2013 People & Planet Diary & Calendar, which help raise vital funds for a group of around 50 social justice and environment charities.

The People & Planet International Photography Competition aims to select 53 photos to be published in the 2012 People & Planet Diary & Calendar

The organizers are looking for 53 extraordinary images of people, places or objects which tell a story about a social-justice or environment issue.

Photos of almost any genre will be accepted, including portraits, landscapes, animals, objects, or any combination of these. The organizers particularly like photos which tell “good news” stories about social-justice or the environment. With 53 spots up for grabs, this is an incredible opportunity to have your photos published and achieve international recognition!

People & Planet raises funds for and supports the work of Australian environment and social justice organizations. People living in the developing/majority world are particularly encouraged to enter.

The following prizes will be awarded in 2012:

  • 1st Prize: $1,500 AUD
  • 2nd Prize: $500 AUD
  • Diary/Calendar Cover Prize: $500 AUD

Winners of the cash prizes, as well as the other 52 photos which will be published in the People & Planet Diary will be notified by 1 June 2012.
